Squirtle McFury had a magical belt that would sparkle every time a kid perfected a Krav Maga move. He also had an infectious laugh that made even the grumpiest of grumpy old trees crack a smile. Under Squirtle's guidance, these pint-sized warriors trained to be quick, alert, and powerful. But the most crucial lesson Squirtle taught them was to be kind, understanding, and respectful to all, even when standing up against bullies. Camp Med-o-lark is an all genders arts sleep away camp in Washington, Maine for children ages 7–16, set on the shores of a pristine lake. Med-o-lark offers a fully elective program, allowing campers to design their own schedules from a wide range of activities including performing arts, fine arts, sports, circus, waterfront, and more. With a background that began in 1994 in Rocky Mount, NC, she is passionate about promoting these values in a fun and nurturing environment. Carrie first experienced national competition with James Dozier's Kicking for Christ competition team, and gained invaluable insight into the importance of commitment, discipline, and attitude. Her travels across the east coast have given her the opportunity to pass on these lessons to her students. At Goldbeck's Martial Arts, Carrie motivates her students to take ownership of their own progress, and strives to create an atmosphere of positivity and achievement. She is dedicated to teaching the importance of self-discipline, self-control, and self-confidence in a way that is both fun and rewarding.
