At Children’s Happy Day School, we understand the importance of a child-centered environment. That is why we strive to create a learning environment that allows for interaction with both children and adults. Our curriculum is designed with the NAEYC guidelines in mind, and is tailored to the age, individual, and social-cultural context of the children. We provide learning opportunities in large and small groups, as well as a variety of play and learning centers, such as block, drama, manipulatives, library, writing, art, and music. Routines are also a key part of the early education experience at Children’s Happy Day School. We use routines to help children become independent, build self-help skills, and gain self-confidence. The combination of a stimulating environment and routines foster the development of essential skills and build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

At the Suzuki Institute of Boston, parents can feel secure that their children are learning from the original materials and teachings of Dr. Suzuki from Japan. We have developed supplementary materials including a series of practice recordings for both technical development and ensemble skills, to accompany Dr. Suzuki’s original materials. We have a diverse faculty and student body and actively recruit in community-based settings, with the founder/director supervising all violin teachers. Our teachers have advanced degrees from leading music schools and active performing and recording careers. We are proud to have sent the only African-American violin teacher ever to study with Dr. Suzuki in Japan.
