If you're in the mood for an urban adventure, the Cambridge YMCA is easy to get to. We are conveniently located in Central Square, on the Red Line for public transportation. Buses frequently pass by our Mass Ave. site, and we are approximately halfway between MIT and Harvard University, directly across from City Hall. If you're driving, the Mass Pike, Storrow Drive, and Memorial Drive will take you right to us. Our parking lot is located directly behind the building on Green Street, and there is metered parking available on Mass Ave. and the surrounding streets.

At our home music academy, we strive to provide your child with the individualized instruction they need to reach their musical goals. We understand that the home environment is the most comfortable and relaxed environment for learning, and our experienced teachers come to you once a week to deliver lessons tailored to your child’s unique needs. We provide the complete music academy experience with frequent recitals, optional group classes, and instrument rental, all at your doorstep. We offer special activities for each age group such as gross motor activities, music and movement, and other classes. Plus, our location is conveniently located near the Kendall Square T and just two blocks from a great playground. In the winter, we even have access to weekly outdoor concerts and an ice skating rink nearby! Our Pre-Teen Program is designed for kids in grades 4 - 5 and consists of four fun and enriching afterschool sessions throughout the school year. The activities are sure to keep your pre-teen entertained while also helping them to develop important skills. Our Middle School Program is perfect for kids in grades 6 - 8. In this program, youth are encouraged to be involved in the development of their community by helping to design their afterschool activities. The program encourages youth to take ownership of their activities while also learning important life skills. At our team of dance and movement coaches, we are passionate about teaching everyday people how to dance in an easy and comfortable manner. Our classes are designed to make learning how to dance accessible for everyone, regardless of their experience level. We believe that dance is a form of communication that is available to everyone, so it’s not necessary to be a backup dancer for celebrities to enjoy the art of dancing. Through our classes, we make it easy for everyone to learn how to dance and make it a part of their life.

At The Learning Circle, we’re dedicated to providing an enriched childcare experience for all of our students. Our composite classrooms combine age groups, a practice that is now more common in childcare settings, but was rare when the school was first founded. This was all thanks to Julie, the founder and childcare professional, her leadership and persistence was instrumental in transforming the potential for learning and care in preschool classrooms throughout the state. Parent’s have noticed the benefits of this multi-age environment, observing that older children set an example for the younger ones, while the younger children have their own lessons to teach.
