Welcome to Claying Around, Asheville’s premier paint your own pottery studio! We offer an inviting, spacious studio with plenty of good energy for adults and kids alike. We have over sixty different colors of underglaze and an extensive selection of pottery pieces, ranging from $3 to $100. We also offer specialty glazes, stamps, stencils, silk screens, sample pottery and books to get your creative juices flowing. If you’re not sure how to start, no need to worry! Our experienced staff will show you how to get the most out of your painting experience. For those looking for more than just pottery painting, we also offer pottery wheel lessons, glass fusing, canvas painting, and even silver clay. With all of these activities in one convenient location, the possibilities are truly endless. And if you’re feeling hungry, there’s even a Starbucks in our spacious parking lot! Once you’re done creating, we’ll take care of the rest - cleaning up, glazing your pottery, firing it until it shines, and wrapping your finished pieces for you. In the late 1960s, Dan Pratt, a musician and educator, stumbled upon a revolutionary music program in Germany that allowed young children to explore their creative side while meeting crucial developmental milestones. Recognizing the impact that this program had on families, Dan knew his life's mission was to take what he had learned and share it with the world. In 1978, Dan introduced the first Kindermusik class, and soon the program had spread throughout the globe. Kindermusik with Yvette is now bringing Kindermusik to the Arden area at Skyland United Methodist Church. Located at 1984 Hendersonville Rd., the classes are held in the upstairs part of the church. Those wishing to attend should enter the door to the right of the main church doors, near the church offices. This unique program has been bringing joy to families for decades, and Kindermusik with Yvette is keeping the tradition alive. Parents and children alike can experience the same music program that Dan Pratt discovered in Germany so many years ago, a program that has been inspiring creativity and meeting developmental milestones ever since.
