Parents of elementary school-aged children can now take advantage of a unique track out experience with The Art of STEM. This program, which is developed and run by educators, helps foster socialization and creative thinking in children through stimulating activities that introduce basic concepts of S.T.E.M. (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math). The Art of STEM utilizes visual and performing arts activities to bring S.T.E.M. concepts to life in a fun and engaging way. Each week, children can practice and perform a short skit as part of reader's theater or a dance, all while building their reading fluency and confidence. Simple costumes and character building further enhance the experience. The Art of STEM is an exceptional way for children to gain a better understanding of S.T.E.M. concepts while also developing key skills in a fun and creative setting. The Academy for the Performing Arts is located in a convenient spot in Apex, NC, right near the crossroads of US1 and HWY 55. Our 10,000 square foot facility has 7 large dance classrooms, each with professional flooring systems to help reduce impact and the chance of injury, wireless sound systems, and shatterproof mirrors. Preschool for the Arts has two classrooms with all the mod cons, plus a large fenced outdoor play area. Parents can take a seat in the lobby and watch their dancers on one of our flat screen televisions. Alternatively, make use of the free wi-fi and get some work done or browse the internet. At Bach to Rock Apex, we want everyone to have the opportunity to learn an instrument or improve their existing musical skills. Our one-on-one approach allows students to develop at their own pace, while playing the songs they love most. We offer private and semi-private lessons for voice, piano, drums, guitar, and a range of other instruments. Plus, our band and glee club programs give performers a chance to practice with peers at similar skill levels, and gain a taste of the limelight as they record in our studio and play at local venues. Since 2015, Bach to Rock Apex has been a go-to music school for toddlers, kids, teens, and adults from Raleigh, Cary, Holly Springs, the Triangle, and surrounding areas. Our staff is made up of some of Wake County’s most talented musicians and educators, with a mix of classically trained professionals and working musicians. Vinjo’s Martial Arts has been providing quality self-defense instruction to our communities since 2001. Our experienced instructors, Kyoshi Vinny Stasi and Sensei Joanne Stasi, have over sixty years of combined experience. Both have achieved high rankings, Kyoshi Vinny Stasi holds a 7th degree black belt and Sensei Joanne Stasi holds a 4th degree black belt. For the past twenty years, the Watkins have been passionate about boating and the great outdoors. Eight of those years were spent sailing in some of the world's most beautiful locations. But when they discovered Jordan Lake, located in the Triangle region of North Carolina, they knew they had uncovered a special treasure. With its 180 miles of shoreline, full of jumping fish and soaring bald eagles, it was the perfect place to experience true quality time. The Watkins have made it their mission to share the wonders of Jordan Lake and the outdoors with other families and children.
