In the enchanted state of Maine, nestled between the whispering pines and the misty mountains, you'll find the most extraordinary children you'll ever encounter. These aren't just any kids. They're the gallant Horse Back Heroes, the bravest, kindest, and funniest bunch of kiddos you can imagine! Meet their leader, Jolly Jumper, a magical, talking horse with a twinkling eye and a hearty laugh. He has a knack for telling the nuttiest jokes, his favorite being, "Why don't horses use Facebook? Because they can't hit the keyboard with their hooves!" He would chuckle at his own jokes, making everyone around him laugh too. The Horse Back Heroes are not just about giggles and guffaws, they are excellent horseback riders as well. Mornings are spent grooming their gentle equine friends, with each stroke of the brush creating a connection deeper than words. Afternoons are for riding, each child perched atop their horse, exploring the breathtaking Maine landscape, their laughter echoing over the mountains. Their bond with their horses is magical. From thundering through the velvety blueberry fields to galloping along the rugged coastline, these kids have adventures every day that would make the bravest knight envious. But it's not all horseplay; they learn about responsibility, care, and love for these magnificent creatures. Through hail or high water, the Horse Back Heroes of Maine never lose their sense of humor or their love for adventure. As Jolly Jumper always tells them, "Riding a horse is not merely about getting from point A to point B; it's about the giggles, the whoops, and the neighs along the way!"

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.

Wyonegonic Camp for Girls is a place where a young girl can come to challenge herself and find her inner strength. The camp is located on Moose Pond in Denmark, Maine and is the oldest girls' camp in the nation. Wyonegonic offers both 3.5 and 7 week programs for girls aged 8 to 18, with a ratio of one counselor to three campers. With 750 acres of pine forest and thousands of feet of waterfront, Wyonegonic has something to offer every camper as they explore new activities in a safe, non-competitive atmosphere. At Wyonegonic, campers are encouraged to be themselves and develop lasting friendships in the simplicity of the outdoors. Wyonegonic counselors are positive mentors and have a minimum of one year of college. They provide a supportive environment for the girls and help them to develop life skills and values that will benefit them in the future. The most important goal of the counselors is to ensure that the campers feel physically and emotionally safe away from home.

At Camp Walden, we place a high value on the Honor System, with its principles of honesty, respect, trust, consideration, and cooperation. We emphasize trying one's best in all activities, and each day campers are scheduled to try all five of them. In addition, our trip program, team sports, special events, and cherished traditions give campers the opportunity to develop their skills, build independence, and cultivate integrity. Finally, Waldenites are encouraged to enjoy the fun, friendships, and new experiences that each summer brings. Through it all, we strive to make Camp Walden a special place to spend the summer.
