Every summer brings a new set of exciting activities and opportunities to make friends who feel like family. At Camp Winadu, we strive to provide a safe and encouraging environment for our campers. We believe in teaching children the importance of having a great attitude and sportsmanship, while also showing them that it is okay to make mistakes. Our campers learn to have fun, work hard, and to be a good sport. We want our campers to experience the joy of making positive memories, and to take with them a newfound sense of confidence and self-esteem.

In 1986, the NBCCC became the Child Care of the Berkshires (CCB). For the next 30 years, CCB worked diligently to provide quality child care and early education programs, support for family child care providers, and referrals to families in need. In 2017, CCB moved to its current location, located in a beautiful, renovated building in downtown North Adams. This move allowed CCB to expand the services it provides to families, providers, and the community. For over 50 years, the Northern Berkshire Child Care Committee and Child Care of the Berkshires have been serving the families of Northern Berkshire County. Founded in 1969 by a group of committed women, NBCCC was born out of the need for daycare in the area. They temporarily took up residence in a church on Monument Square before eventually relocating to the Haskins Elementary School. During these early years, they managed to build a network of family child care providers, funded through donations, the Northern Berkshire United Way, and a contract with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. In 1986, the NBCCC rebranded as the Child Care of the Berkshires (CCB). For the last three decades, CCB has worked tirelessly to provide quality child care and early education programs, in addition to support for family child care providers and referrals for those in need. In 2017, CCB moved to its current location in North Adams. This move enabled CCB to increase their services to families, providers, and the surrounding community. For the last 50 years, the Northern Berkshire Child Care Committee and Child Care of the Berkshires have been an integral part of the Northern Berkshire County community. Through their dedication and commitment to providing quality child care and early education programs, they have been able to make a positive impact on countless families in the area.

The Pittsfield Suns are a collegiate summer baseball team which provides an opportunity for the local community to support local athletes. The team competes in the Future Collegiate Baseball League of New England (FCBL), a league formed in 2011 to prepare college baseball players for playing professional baseball and give them the chance to be seen by Major League scouts. The Suns moved into Wahconah Park in 2012 and the roster is made up of New England athletes currently playing collegiate baseball, at the Division 1, 2 or 3 levels, with local community ties. With eight teams all from New England, the league is a great way for New Englanders to support their local athletes.

Since its inception in 1969, the Northern Berkshire Child Care Committee has been a vital resource for day care in Northern Berkshire County. The Albany Berkshire Ballet has a rich and varied history. It began in the mid-1950s with the Cantarella School of Dance in Pittsfield, Massachusetts. Founded by Artistic Director Madeline Cantarella Culpo, the school advanced its students to the Berkshire Ballet Guild in 1960. This led to the formation of the Berkshire Civic Ballet in 1969, which then became the Berkshire Ballet and eventually the Albany Berkshire Ballet in 1989. The Albany Berkshire Ballet is now a 501 nonprofit performing company. The Albany Berkshire Ballet has a legacy of excellence, having trained and presented dancers at all levels of proficiency. Artistic Director Madeline Cantarella Culpo and the Cantarella School of Dance formed the foundation of this progress. The school's advanced students were presented with an opportunity to perform in the Berkshire Ballet Guild in 1960. This rapidly evolved into a professional company and in 1969 the Berkshire Civic Ballet was formed. The company has since expanded to become the Albany Berkshire Ballet in 1989. The Albany Berkshire Ballet is a recognized 501 nonprofit performing dance company. It has provided dancers with exceptional training and has presented shows at all levels of proficiency.
