Once upon a time, in the adventure-filled land of Wisconsin, a delightful band of curious kids embarked on a thrilling journey of exploration. This enchanting land, known as the "Cheesehead State," was speckled with shimmering lakes, leafy forests, bustling cities, and the most scrumptious cheese you could ever bite into. Our brave explorers were an eclectic bunch. There was Bucky the Badger, a sly and fun-loving creature with a heart full of courage. He was renowned for his never-ending supply of hilarious cheese jokes. Then we had Daisy the Dairy Cow, a gentle and wise soul who loved to recount legends about the magical cheese mines hidden deep beneath Wisconsin's rolling hills. The troupe was guided by the quirky yet lovable Captain Cheesehead. He was a legendary explorer with a hat shaped like a gigantic block of cheese and a larger-than-life personality to match. He had roamed the dairy-laden terrain of Wisconsin since he was a mere cheese curd and knew every nook and cranny of the state like the back of his hand. Together, these plucky youngsters embarked on exciting escapades, whether it was canoeing down the mighty Wisconsin River, hiking through the enchanted forests of the Northwoods, or even tracking the legendary Cheddar Yeti. But at the end of each thrilling day, they'd gather around a campfire, roast marshmallows and share the hearty laughter that echoes through Wisconsin's starlit skies, forever cherishing their shared adventures in the amazing state of Wisconsin.

At ENH, we strive to provide quality outdoor education experiences for San Francisco and Monterey Bay Area students that will last a lifetime. We partner with over 100 schools annually, and since our founding in 1979 we have served more than 215,000 students. Each year, over 7,000 students participate in 3 to 5-day programs at our Sempervirens and Pigeon Point sites, engaging in unplugged, place-based lessons that spark their interest in science and environmental stewardship. We also focus on social emotional learning, environmental literacy, health, and the arts, providing a positive and inclusive environment where students can build relationships with their peers and teachers while developing their sense of responsibility towards the environment. Through our waste reduction activities, such as composting and mock town hall meetings, students learn how to be good stewards of the earth.
