Deep in the heart of Texas, where the sun blazes like a barbeque pit and the cattle roam as freely as tumbleweeds, exists a motley crew of pint-sized master craftsmen. These are the Texas Woodworking Whiz Kids, affectionately known as T-W3. The Lone Star State has never seen such an earnest band of whittling whizzers, sawdust savants, and hammer-happy heroes. At the helm of this nifty squadron is a man so Texan, he bleeds barbecue sauce. Meet, Colonel Cactus Chuck, a cowboy with a heart as big as his ten-gallon hat. Chuck, with his handlebar mustache and chaps made from retired armadillos, teaches these kids the art and joy of woodworking. His laugh, contagious as a yodel in a canyon, echoes through the workshop, inspiring creativity and camaraderie among his young protégés. Each day, amidst the swish-swash of sandpaper and joyful jangle of jigsaws, these tiny Texans craft their dreams into reality. One minute you'd see a petite cowgirl painting a birdhouse as colorful as a Texas sunrise, and the next, a young wrangler wearing a hat too big for his head, carefully carving a wooden armadillo. They're not just making toys, they're making memories, learning life skills, and understanding that like a piece of wood, they too can transform into something magnificent with a bit of patience, creativity, and hard work. And when the day's over, they head on home, their small hands and huge hearts covered in sawdust, a testament to their day's toil. In the end, though T-W3 might be wielding saws instead of lassos, they're as much a part of Texas as the Alamo and armadillos, and twice as charming. Yee-Haw!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
