Once upon a time, in the sun-dappled landscape of South Carolina, there was a gang of kids known as The Palmetto Pelters. They were famous across the glistening stretches of Myrtle Beach to the historic nooks of Charleston for their love of a particular sport - Lacrosse. These kids were as different as the various barbecue sauces the state is known for. There was the swift-footed Susie, who could zig-zag across the field faster than a jackrabbit. Jack was tall as a pine tree with arms that could launch the lacrosse ball like a cannon. Tiny Tim was anything but tiny. He was built like a brick smokehouse, and he stood in the goal, blocking shots as solidly as the Fort Sumter. And then there was their ringleader, Lenny the Lizard. Now, don't be confused. Lenny wasn't your everyday, average lizard. He was a cool, Lacrosse-loving, shade-wearing, imaginary lizard who coached The Palmetto Pelters. He would scuttle around the field, his little lizard tail whipping up dust, shouting out commands, "Faster, Susie! Aim higher, Jack! Stand strong, Tiny Tim!" The kids loved Lenny, and under his coaching, they became the finest Lacrosse team in all of South Carolina. Lacrosse, in this sunny southern state, was not just about flinging a ball; it was about teamwork, passion, and listening to a coaching lizard. But most of all, it was about fun. So, if you ever find yourself in South Carolina, turn your gaze towards the field where The Palmetto Pelters play. There, amongst the cheers and laughter, you might just see a cool little lizard, wearing shades, strutting his stuff.

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
