For over 25 years, Prestwick Tennis Club has been a pillar in the Grand Strand tennis community. After opening its doors in the late 80s, the club originally had five courts, which have since expanded to 13. In 2015, its future was uncertain, but soon after, Jimmy Mendieta took the helm and began restoring the facility's prestigious status. His mission has been to create a welcoming atmosphere that encourages camaraderie and friendship among members. Today, Prestwick Tennis Club is thriving, with over 240 members and 60+ junior athletes. USTA teams are formed and friendships are built each season, as the club continues to expand its impact on the community. In the summer of 2009, Ric Wagner and Lauren Foxworth, his niece, made a dream come true. Together they opened Ultimate Gymnastics Academy in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Since January 2011, UGA has been operating at its current location. Lauren had always wanted to own a gym, and Ric was her mentor from a young age. Reflecting on their decision to open UGA, Lauren said, “Together I knew we would make a good team.” The combination of Ric and Lauren’s expertise has resulted in many college gymnastics scholarships for their students. UGA has also had multiple gymnasts make it to Regionals, Eastern and National Championships. Ric and Lauren’s coaching and dedication have made those successes possible.

After graduating from Salem College in North Carolina with a bachelor's degree in music education, Barbara has been teaching music for over 40 years. She has taught general music, chorus, band and private piano, ukulele, guitar and voice classes. Additionally, she has credentials in Musikgarten, Kindermusik and continuing education in the Carl Orff method. Barbara was recently awarded the Musikgarten Exceptional Prize for the 2022–2023 academic year. This is an incredible honor and we are thrilled for her. She is dedicated to teaching her students music in a way that is appropriate for their age and developmental stage. We are honored to have Barbara as a part of our team and look forward to her continued success.
