They're as bendy as buckeye branches and as spry as speedy squirrels. The leader of this supernova crew is a character as cool as a cucumber, Captain Funky Footwork. He's not just a regular boy from Toledo. With his disco-ball helmet, shoes that tie themselves, and a heart as big as the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, he's a true icon in the Dance Dynamite's universe. Captain Funky Footwork and the Ohio Dance Dynamites are always ready to pop, lock, and drop it! They believe that each river in Ohio beats with a rhythmic flow and every cornfield rustles like a maraca. And so, they dance - in Dayton, in Cleveland, in Columbus, and even in the smallest of Ohio towns. Their dance is not just a regular two-step or a ballet pirouette, it’s a jumble of giggles, wiggles, and Ohio pride, that makes every adult wish they could swing their hips like a hula hoop too. The Ohio Dance Dynamites and their leader, Captain Funky Footwork, believe that the beat of Ohio is in their hearts, and they’re ready to dance it out, one funky footwork at a time!

The Black Belt Leadership Academy has a rich history that spans more than ten years, during which it has been pivotal in aiding students to sharpen their concentration, bolster their power, and enhance their self-assurance through exceptional martial arts instruction. Our branch in Wauwatosa is a welcoming space that respects and includes students of every kind, regardless of whether they're novices or seasoned martial artists. Each class that we provide is meticulously planned to challenge students at a personal level, while also creating a positive and rewarding ambiance. This individualized approach guarantees that all our students feel recognized and motivated, which leads to a more successful learning journey. At our academy, we're committed to fostering an environment that brings out the best in each student. Our classes aim to not merely impart martial arts techniques but also to instill qualities such as discipline, respect, and resilience. Lisa's School of Dance opened in 1982 when Lisa Testa purchased the studio at the age of 17. She ran the studio while attending college at Kent State University as a Dance and Recreational Education major. The Studio originated just down the road from where we operate from today. It began with only one teacher (Lisa), one dance studio, and a very small office. Today, the studio has grown to 12+ teachers, four dance studios, and an extensive office staff. Lisa and her teaching staff have choreographed several award-winning routines which have been taken to regional and national competitions in Ohio and surrounding states and several of our teachers are certified Acrobatic Arts instructors. The studio has produced three National Title winners. Competition students have traveled to dance on Broadway in NYC and Florida to dance in the Walt Disney World Parade. Many of our students have graduated and gone on to pursue careers in the dance field. Our instructors keep up to date with current trends in dance and safety to keep your dancer dancing for years to come.
