Hidden Valley Camp has been a beloved part of family life since 1948. Located in a beautiful and tranquil 350-acre site near the Maine coast, this acclaimed international summer camp offers children and teens, ages 8 to 14, the very best in both arts and outdoor activities. You can choose your own focus, whether you're after art camp, horse camp, dance camp, water camp, farm camp, adventure camp, performing arts camp, or sports camp – or any combination of these great areas. Abraham and Gertrude Krasker, a professor and teacher from Essex College, had a dream to own a summer camp of their own. They found the perfect spot, a farm nestled in Fryeburg, ME and opened the doors of Indian Acres Camp for Boys in 1924. Two years later, Forest Acres Camp for Girls opened two miles down the road. When Abraham passed in 1962, their son Dick took over ownership and management of both camps. With his wife Sandy, Dick ran camp until 1998 when it was purchased by Lisa and Geoff Newman. The Newmans were determined to keep the Krasker's legacy alive and with the help of Neal and Julie Waldman, their dream became a reality. Today, Indian and Forest Acres is a thriving summer camp thanks to the hard work of the Newman family. Almost 100 years after its founding, the camp continues to honor the traditions and vision of its founders, Abe and Gertrude Krasker.

Abe and Gertrude Krasker's dream of owning a summer camp came true in 1924 when they opened Indian Acres Camp for Boys in Fryeburg, ME. The couple had fallen in love with a property they purchased from Abe's student at Essex College. Two years later, they opened Forest Acres Camp for Girls two miles down the road. When Abe passed away in 1962, his son Richard took over the management of both camps, with his mother teaching him the ropes of camp ownership. He and his wife Sandy fully took over in 1969. In 1998, the camps were purchased by Lisa and Geoff Newman who were determined to keep the tradition the Kraskers had established alive. Between 2005 and 2010, Neal and Julie Waldman co-directed camp with Lisa and Geoff. Now, almost 100 years after its founding, Indian and Forest Acres thrive under the Newman’s leadership with tradition at the heart of what makes the camp so special.

Wyonegonic Camp for Girls is a place where a young girl can come to challenge herself and find her inner strength. The camp is located on Moose Pond in Denmark, Maine and is the oldest girls' camp in the nation. Wyonegonic offers both 3.5 and 7 week programs for girls aged 8 to 18, with a ratio of one counselor to three campers. With 750 acres of pine forest and thousands of feet of waterfront, Wyonegonic has something to offer every camper as they explore new activities in a safe, non-competitive atmosphere. Located in Casco Bay on Peaks Island, this camp is accessible by the Casco Bay Lines ferry in Portland. Children ages 3 and up can take a morning boat ride to the island and spend the day engaging in horseback riding, kayaking, swimming, fort exploration, games, and crafts. Every day, campers and staff vote on daily activities, and each camper's input is valued. With the help of seasoned “honorary aides”, younger campers learn how to groom and saddle up the horses, while developing confidence and social skills. Horse Island Camp is a fun and kind place where kids can learn all about the horses and make lifelong friends!

At LaDawn Quarter Horses Therapeutic Riding Center, everyone is welcome! We offer services to people of all ages and abilities, whether it be through referral from a professional or of their own accord. Our occupational therapist is well-versed in equestrian therapy and has been providing the service for many years. Our new, handicapped accessible barn is built with safety and comfort in mind and features a viewing room for families to watch the lesson in a climate-controlled setting. With individualized treatment plans tailored to the rider’s needs and goals, many of our participants have experienced improvements in self-esteem, focus, and physical capabilities.

Nestled in the rolling country-side of Gorham, Maine, Vienna Farm is a comprehensive equestrian center that has been providing horse and rider training since 1984. With 82 acres of woodlands, fields, and pastures, Vienna Farm is a picturesque setting for the equestrian-minded. The farm specializes in dressage, and offers riding lessons for any skill level. The farm is conveniently located just south of Sebago Lake, and is within a short drive from Portland, Maine’s largest city. Visitors are encouraged to stop by, meet the experienced instructors and trainers, and take in the beauty of the farm. At our farm, we specialize in English and Western horse riding lessons.
