Our story starts with the quirky master of ceramics, Sir Clay A. Lot, a charming, eccentric gentleman with a beard as bushy as a beaver's tail and a laugh as contagious as the common cold. Sir Clay wore an artist's smock so splattered with paint, it made Jackson Pollock's artwork look like a blank canvas. He guided the kids through the labyrinth of creativity, turning every pottery project into a grand adventure. These children, with hands as eager as squirrels and imagination as boundless as the Atlantic Ocean, transformed simple lumps of clay into breathtaking works of art. They molded mythical creatures, intricate castles, and even the occasional spaghetti bowl (because, well, every artist has to eat, right?). There was Penny the Prankster, whose pottery always had a sneaky surprise. Then came Daring Danny, who could spin the pottery wheel faster than a cheetah on roller skates. What began in a humble New York City apartment with just a single student, Spark, has since blossomed into an enriching program impacting thousands of children. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire. You can find Spark on-site in various schools and at our main studio located in the Upper West Side. But we're not stopping there - we're also planning to expand to the Upper East Side and Brooklyn. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. We offer in-home instruction and virtual options to ensure that Spark can reach you, no matter where you are. We've got two great options for you and your family to enjoy crafting together! Our Walk In Studio Painting and Pottery to Go allows you to visit the studio anytime and create something special. If your group is larger than usual, you can also easily book an appointment ahead of time. When you choose Pottery to Go, you don't need to worry about coming into the studio in person. Simply message us on Facebook and we'll send you pictures of all the inventory, so you can pick out the items you want virtually. Your items will be wrapped up and all the paint and brushes you need will be provided for you to take home and craft in the comfort of your own home.
