Meet Mr. Mass, a burly muscle-bound superhero who hails from the splendid state of Massachusetts. Our hero sports a cape of cobalt blue, the color of the mighty Atlantic that elegantly graces the state's eastern shore. And, he adds a dash of cranberry red, a nod to the state's famous bogs that produce the nation's finest tart treasures, in the form of gloves to his famous superhero attire. Now, Mr. Mass has an interesting mission. He has a troop of young, sprightly kids from all over Massachusetts who he trains in the art of Muay Thai. They're not your run-of-the-mill town youngsters, oh no! In fact, they're famously known as the "Boston Bean Bruisers," named after the state's famous baked beans. Just like those beans, they're small but pack a powerful punch! These kids come from the sprawling cityscapes of Boston, the blustery beaches of Cape Cod, the hilly trails of Berkshire, and even the historic towns of Plymouth. They gather at the "Massachusetts Muay Thai Mansion," a mythical gym that only they can see, nestled between Fenway Park and the iconic Harvard University. With Mr. Mass as their sensei, they channel their inner strength, just like the Mighty Myles Standish and Paul Revere before them. With each learned jab, uppercut, and roundhouse kick, they embody the resilient spirit of Massachusetts, standing strong like the enduring lighthouses that pepper the state's coastlines. Whether they're sparring under the shadow of Boston's skyscrapers or practicing their kicks in the vibrant fall foliage of the countryside, the Boston Bean Bruisers are a riotous bunch. They’re as energetic as a Patriots touchdown, as fearless as a Minuteman in battle, and as cheeky as a Fenway Frank at a Red Sox game. They prove that in the world of Massachusetts Muay Thai, you're guaranteed gut-busting laughter and a whale of a good time!

The Street Practical Self Defense / Small Circle JuJitsu program for adults, teens, and kids has been serving the greater Boston area since 1990. In fact, people from all over five different states and even overseas have been taking part in this incredible program. Not only does it help with self-defense, but it also teaches students how to recognize and stay away from potential threats. Youth classes are available for kids ages 5 to 13 and teach children the basics of schoolyard safety and street smarts. Through the program, they can learn how to deal with bullying, how to identify threats, and how to protect themselves in dangerous situations. By the end of the program, kids will know how to properly deflect an attacker and get away safely.

The Academy has been in operation since 1995, when 5th-degree black belt Roberto Maia founded it under the guidance of Carlos Gracie Jr., the son of Carlos Gracie, the late founder of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. The Academy traces its roots directly back to the original Gracie Barra Academy located in Barra da Tijuca, Rio De Janeiro, Brazil. This gives students access to the most authentic Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu training available. In 2013, Jimmy DelOrfano, 1st-degree black belt under Roberto Maia, opened Boston BJJ Woburn. This expansion of the Academy allows for more students to participate in the training and further solidifies Boston Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as the premier training center in New England.
