Their leader is a ten-year-old boy named Slugger Sam, a lean, mean, baseball-hitting machine. Sam, who has a secret superpower of turning any fruit into a baseball, is well-known for his ‘Apple Smack’ and ‘Watermelon Whack’. It's a sight that leaves the crowd laughing their hats off, as a burst of apple juice or a splash of watermelon flies through the air after his powerful swing! The Mini Red Sox play under the watchful eyes of Sox, a mischievous, magical squirrel. Sox, who wears a tiny Red Sox cap, has a knack for making the most boring practice drills hilariously entertaining. Just when you think you've seen it all, Sox might just replace a baseball with an acorn or perform a nutty cha-cha on the pitcher's mound! Our organization is open to all youth ages 6-17 living in Brookline, attending school in Brookline, or whose parents work for the Town of Brookline. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive atmosphere that encourages our youth to develop teamwork, sportsmanship, and self-discipline. We strive to foster a love for the game of baseball while teaching our players the skills they need to become successful in all areas of their lives. BYB is a volunteer organization, and we are proud to serve our community. We know that learning the great game of baseball can help shape our youth into strong, confident individuals, and we are delighted to provide that opportunity to our Brookline youth.
