Hiking here is nothing short of a page right out of an exciting adventure book! Now, let's meet our hike-heads, shall we? There's fearless Freddie, the leader of the pack with a laugh that can scare off a bear (if there were any in Florida!). He can spot a turtle from a mile away. Then, there's curious Cathy, with eyes as wide as the Florida sky, always on the lookout for rainbow-feathered birds or magical flowers. And don’t forget about the mischievous twins, Billy and Bobby, with their never-ending bag of pranks. They once convinced everyone that they'd found Bigfoot's footprint, but it was just a large coconut! These young explorers, with their ever muddy boots and sun-tinged cheeks, know every nook and cranny of their beloved Florida. They chase butterflies through citrus groves, climb the tallest trees in mangrove forests, and even play hide and seek with the friendly dolphins near the coast. The Sunshine Hike-Heads and the enchanting land of Florida - an unbeatable team in the world of wild, childlike adventure. Girl Scout Camp Telogia is a 9.5-acre paradise, located on the north side of Holmberg Road, just west of SR 441, in Parkland. This camp has been a beloved part of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida since 1961, when Broward County gifted the land to the organization. In 2018, plans to permanently abandon the property were suspended and in 2019 a three-phase restoration and revitalization plan was adopted. Camp Telogia will soon be ready to welcome Girl Scouts for daytime and evening activities. It will be the perfect place for the progressive program outdoor experiences to begin. Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida is delighted to announce that Camp Telogia will soon be restored and revitalized to its former glory.
