Then, there's curious Cathy, with eyes as wide as the Florida sky, always on the lookout for rainbow-feathered birds or magical flowers. And don’t forget about the mischievous twins, Billy and Bobby, with their never-ending bag of pranks. They once convinced everyone that they'd found Bigfoot's footprint, but it was just a large coconut! These young explorers, with their ever muddy boots and sun-tinged cheeks, know every nook and cranny of their beloved Florida. They chase butterflies through citrus groves, climb the tallest trees in mangrove forests, and even play hide and seek with the friendly dolphins near the coast. Give your child the opportunity to learn a unique Olympic sport while building confidence, focus, coordination, discipline, and strategic thinking at ALLE Fencing Club in Fort Lauderdale. ALLE Fencing Club specializes in saber fencing and welcomes students from beginners discovering the sport for the first time to experienced young athletes preparing for regional and national competitions. Youth beginner classes introduce children ages 6–12 to the fundamentals of fencing, including saber handling, footwork, distance control, fencing etiquette, sportsmanship, coordination, focus, and basic rules. Junior programs are available for ages 12+ and help students progress toward competitive fencing. With experienced coaches and a supportive training environment, students develop both physical and mental skills while learning a sport that challenges them to think quickly, move confidently, and make strategic decisions. Advanced and Elite programs provide additional training for experienced fencers interested in tournaments and high-level competition. ALLE Fencing Club also offers private lessons for personalized instruction and skill development, as well as beginner-focused fencing camps that combine fencing activities with teamwork, confidence-building, focus, and fun.
Girl Scout Camp Telogia is a 9.5-acre paradise, located on the north side of Holmberg Road, just west of SR 441, in Parkland. This camp has been a beloved part of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida since 1961, when Broward County gifted the land to the organization. In 2018, plans to permanently abandon the property were suspended and in 2019 a three-phase restoration and revitalization plan was adopted. Camp Telogia will soon be ready to welcome Girl Scouts for daytime and evening activities. It will be the perfect place for the progressive program outdoor experiences to begin. Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida is delighted to announce that Camp Telogia will soon be restored and revitalized to its former glory.
