They are led by their coach, a magically animated, super-strong flamingo named Flex Flamingo, bestowed with the wisdom of the Everglades and a sense of humor as sharp as a seatooth. Now, Flex Flamingo, who stands taller than a palm tree and sports a bright pink plumage, tougher than the toughest alligator skin, swings his long, muscular neck left and right, encouraging his flock of wrestling whizzes. With a lemonade in one talon and a whistle in the other, he takes the wrestling game to a whole new level of fun! "Remember, kiddos," he squawks, his voice booming over the grunts and groans of the grappling youngsters, "In wrestling, the only thing you should fear is a ticklish opponent!" Every day under the burning Florida sun, these kids engage in epic wrestling matches, training to be the best. While we cater to children ages 1-13 for neurotypical kids, we have no age limit when it comes to kids with special needs—because play should have no boundaries. At The Happy Hive, we believe every child deserves a space where they can feel safe, included, and free to be themselves.
At Central Florida Wrestling Academy (CFWA), we are dedicated to training and developing the next generation of wrestling champions. Our program is open to boys and girls aged 7 to 18, and we offer year-round training and competition, with varying programs depending on the athlete’s experience and age. Our athletes have the chance to compete in tournaments all over the state and the country, and to take advantage of college camps in the summer. As a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, our mission is to help young wrestlers reach their full potential, whether that’s becoming an NCAA national champion, a world team member, or simply a better person. We strive to provide our athletes with the best possible resources and support to help them reach their goals.
