Established in 1963, this park was the first of its kind in the U.S., offering families the chance to explore the wonders of the underwater world. John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park and its adjacent Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary are havens for wildlife and marine life. Spanning 178 nautical square miles, this park extends 3 miles into the Atlantic Ocean and covers 25 miles in length. It is home to coral reefs, seagrass beds and mangrove swamps, all of which are protected from harm and preserved for future generations. In 1972, the park was added to the National Register of Historic Places, ensuring its protection and preservation for years to come. John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park offers families a unique and exciting opportunity to explore the wonders of the underwater world. With its breathtaking array of marine life and coral reefs, this park is an excellent way to get up close and personal with nature. Whether you’re looking for a day of snorkeling, scuba diving or just a relaxing day on the water, this park is the perfect spot to explore and discover the beauty of the ocean.

Welcome to Jacobs Aquatic Center, the premier swim facility in the Florida Keys! Whether you’re looking for a place to work on your fitness, practice your paddling, or just having some fun in the sun with the family, Jacobs Aquatic Center has something for everyone. Our top-of-the-line facility features a 25-meter Myrtha competition pool, a therapy pool, and Pirate Ship interactive water park with slides and other fun features. For parents, our concession desk offers a variety of snacks and beverages, plus the gear you need to make sure your little ones stay safe in the water. We also have a wide range of swimming programs for all ages and swimming skill sets, year-round. And don’t forget the Orange Bowl Swim Classic and Winter Training, both proudly hosted by Jacobs Aquatic Center. Let the fun begin!
