In 1983, the rink was taken over by Donald Bartelson, a longtime friend and skating professional. He was able to continue the legacy set by the Vanderbergs, and the Ontario Ice Skating Center remains a popular destination for recreational and competitive skaters. The Ontario Center Ice Arena offers a wide variety of programs for all ages and skill levels, including public skating, figure skating, and youth hockey teams and leagues.
