It was a gigantic jungle of ropes, ladders, and obstacles swinging high above the ground, creating an aerial playground for our brave Alabama Acrobats. Every day, with their bandanas tied tightly around their heads and their hearts filled with excitement, Sammy Squirrel and his team of feisty friends would rush to the Rope Course. And oh, the adventures they had! They swung from the ropes like monkeys, climbed the ladders like agile cats, and laughed like hyenas when one of them made a funny face after a wild swing. Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. Located on 120+ acres of land in Somerville, Alabama, just 20 minutes from South Huntsville, campers can enjoy a variety of outdoor activities in 1-week sessions held in June and July. From Pre-K (4+ years old) through 8th grade, campers can experience horseback riding, swimming, canoeing, archery, rock-wall climbing, zip-lining, high & low ropes challenge courses, and more!
