Each day, the Baseball Brats, armed with bats and gloves, would gather on the diamond, their faces glowing brighter than the evening sun setting over the Mississippi River. The crack of a bat hitting a ball would echo across the fields, followed by the giggles and cheers of kids as they ran around the bases, their happiness spreading like butter over freshly baked bread.
