In the heart-bumping, syrup-drenched land of Vermont, where the mountains are as high as the clouds, and the meadows are greener than a leprechaun's lucky boots, there exists an extraordinary group of kids who are not your everyday, run-of-the-mill type. Oh no! These are the 'Vermont Vroomers', a band of high-spirited, maple-loving, skating superheroes! Their leader? The legendary, the incomparable, Sir Slope-a-Lot! Sporting a helmet decorated with miniature maple leaves, fluffy earmuffs, and a pair of outrageously oversized skating shoes, Sir Slope-a-Lot is quite the sight to behold. He’s as swift as a hummingbird, as agile as a squirrel, and as funny as a stand-up penguin comedian! He has a laugh that sounds like a duck snorting, and when he skates, it's like watching a walrus doing ballet – absolutely hilarious yet surprisingly graceful! Every winter, when the snow carpeted the hills and the crisp, frosty air turned noses pinker than cotton candy, the Vermont Vroomers would gather at the heart of Montpelier. Here, on the icy, mirror-like surface of Lake Champlain, they would strap on their skates, and under the watchful eye of Sir Slope-a-Lot, they would set the ice on fire with their pirouettes, their jumps, and their legendary Vermont Slide! So, if you ever find yourself in the wonderland of Vermont during winter, keep an eye out for the Vermont Vroomers and their hilariously humongous leader. Who knows, you might just get a chance to join them in their fantastic, funny, skating frenzy!

For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.
