They are the Texas Tumbleweed Troupers and they're led by none other than the legendary cowboy, Dusty Dillo. This isn’t your regular cowboy, mind you. Nope, Dusty is a three-foot talking armadillo with a ten-gallon hat and twinkling, mischievous eyes that match the color of the wide Texan sky. Dusty Dillo and the Troupe are always on the lookout for their next great Texas-sized adventure. They ride on the backs of giant jackrabbits, race roadrunners across the rocky desert terrain, and even play hide-and-seek with the scurrying scorpions, careful not to disturb their afternoon siesta. And let me tell you, nothing gets a cactus giggling like some kids trying to hide behind its prickly body! When the sun sets, painting the sky with hues of a wild watercolor painting, the Troupe gathers around a campfire. Dusty Dillo strums his cactus-needle guitar, spinning tales of the magical Lone Star State under the gleaming Milky Way. The kids listen, their eyes as wide as full moons, their hearts beating with the rhythm of the wild Texan wilderness. Yes, sirree, the Texas Tumbleweed Troupers are a lively lot, embracing every earthworm, every tumbleweed, and every moment under the vast Texan sky. They believe that the beauty of nature isn't just to be seen, but to be felt, smelled, and touched...except for the prickly pears, those fellows sting!

Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. This private girls' summer camp caters to young ladies aged 6-16 and is the pride and joy of the Ragsdale family who own and operate it with absolute dedication. At Heart O' the Hills, we have meticulously designed our program with an emphasis on fostering personal growth and character development. Our mission is to empower girls with self-confidence, promote teamwork, and nurture leadership skills. Moreover, we strive to champion individuality, motivation, and resilience. We are more than just a summer camp; we are a nurturing community, dedicated to encouraging personal growth and development. Our camp offers diverse 2- and 4-week overnight sessions, packed with over 50 instructional activities. We seamlessly blend traditional camp activities with unique ones, from English and western horseback riding, Red Cross swimming lessons, a variety of team and individual sports, to archery, riflery, tennis, cooking, fencing, rock climbing, video production, and wilderness survival. We take immense pride in our friendly, competitive Sisterhoods and uphold a strong tradition of etiquette. Heart O' the Hills is more than just a camp.
