They're kids from all over the state of Texas, from the dusty plains of Amarillo to the thriving metropolis of Houston, who've swapped their cowboy boots for flippers and their ten-gallon hats for snorkels. Among these Tadpoles, there's one quite special character named Pecos Pete. Pecos Pete is no ordinary boy; he's a freckled, buck-toothed, whiz kid with a laughter as contagious as a tumbleweed rolling through the desert. He's as legendary as the Lone Star itself and is said to have been born during a Texas-sized thunderstorm, which explains his uncanny passion for all things water. Pecos Pete is the undisputed leader of the Texas Tadpoles. He's notorious for his audacious dives and belly flops that send a splash soaring higher than a rodeo bull on a sugar rush! Pete and his team of Tadpoles turn the intense Texas heat into a wild water rodeo, hopping from rivers to lakes, and even the Gulf of Mexico. They swim like fish at the Guadalupe River, snorkel around the coral reefs of the Gulf, and even ride the waves at South Padre Island, turning the Texas heat into the coolest summer extravaganza. So, if you ever find yourself in Texas, look for a kid with a wild laugh, a splash that could drench a cactus, and an army of water-loving pals. For over 50 years, Frontier Camp has been dedicated to making disciples of Jesus by sharing God’s Word amidst the beauty of His creation. Since our founding in 1969, we’ve been licensed by the Texas Department of State Health Services and are proudly accredited by the American Camping Association. We’re also a member of the Christian Camping and Conference Association. Our mission is to use Christian camping and outdoor recreation as a means to support local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission—evangelizing people of all ages and discipling believers toward deeper maturity in Christ. Frontier Camp offers a dual ministry: during the summer, we host a 10-week youth camp, and throughout the rest of the year, we serve as a retreat facility for churches and like-minded religious organizations. Whether through summer camps or retreats, our goal remains the same: to expose people to Christ and encourage their spiritual growth through His Word and by reflecting His character in everything we do. While we provide top-notch recreation and exciting programming, the heart of our camp is the spiritual impact, rooted in the truth of God’s inerrant Word.

The Camp Fire Camp El Tesoro, established in 1934, has been a welcoming haven for generations of campers, with its iconic swinging bridge being a memorable landmark for many. El Tesoro, which translates to "The Treasure" in Spanish, is a 223-acre sanctuary nestled between Fall Creek and the Brazos River in Granbury, Texas. Our camp offers a breathtaking panorama of the serene river and the vast open spaces of the blackland prairie. Our natural terrain and indigenous landscape offer our visitors a much-needed respite from the hustle and bustle of the modern world. This idyllic oasis currently hosts co-ed overnight campers, day campers, grief campers, teachers, students keen on learning about nature, and groups seeking to foster connection and indulge in outdoor adventures. In 2010, Camp Fire First Texas launched a Capital Campaign aimed at renovating and upgrading the facilities at Camp El Tesoro. This initiative is essential to ensure that the enchanting spirit of the camp continues to be enjoyed by future generations. We're committed to preserving and enhancing the magic of Camp El Tesoro, enriching the lives of campers for many years to come.
