These pint-sized culinary wizards gather in the coziest corners of Charleston, the breeziest beaches of Myrtle, and in the shade of the towering Blue Ridge Mountains. They are not just any ordinary kids, oh no, they are the spatula wielding, recipe inventing, taste testing heroes of the great Palmetto State! Leading this brigade of buttery brilliance is Captain Grits, a quirky character with a hat made of corn husks and a cape woven from the finest Carolina cotton. Dressed in his all-dish armor of aprons and oven mitts, he loves fishing for fun in Lake Murray and using the day's catch for his legendary seafood gumbo. His laughter is as infectious as a blue crab's scamper, and he has a heart as warm as a hot bowl of shrimp and grits. When the Carolina Cooklets assemble under the sweet-scented magnolia trees and the starry Southern skies, they whip up incredible feasts. They mix the wisdom from their grandparents' recipes with the daringness of their adventurous young hearts. Some days they make fluffy biscuits as big as Charleston's Rainbow Row houses and barbecue sauces that could make a grown man cry. DEBUT Creative Center & Theater-Studio is a dual-language (English–Russian) program where kids explore creativity, confidence, and self-expression. From theater and dance to fencing and stage performance, children can try new activities and discover their unique talents. Small class sizes let instructors give each child personalized attention, helping them feel comfortable, supported, and confident as they learn. Kids build artistic skills while also developing social confidence, teamwork, and poise on stage and in everyday life. Our programs celebrate each child’s individuality, combining fun, hands-on experiences with a focus on personal growth—all while keeping Russian language and culture an important part of the curriculum.
