Rhode Island, or as it's affectionately known, the tiny titan of the United States, is a small state with a huge heart. It's the smallest state in the US, but don't let that fool you - it's packed with more fun, adventure, and charm per square inch than any other place you can think of. And at the heart of this tiny titan is its most precious treasure - the young, talented, and adventurous swimmers.

Swimming in Rhode Island is more than just a sport. It's a thrilling adventure that turns ordinary kids into extraordinary swimmers. The kids who participate in swimming here are not your regular kids. Oh no, they are Rhode Island's super swimmers, and their superpower is their uncanny ability to swim like a fish and laugh like a dolphin at the same time. 

Leading the pack of these super swimmers is a cool imaginary character named Splash McFin, a hilarious half-kid, half-merman with goggle-shaped eyes and webbed fingers, who's as quick with a joke as he is in the water. Splash is famous for his belly laughs, inspiring swimming stories, and his signature move - the whirlpool whirl – a swimming stunt that involves swirling at high speed to create a mini whirlpool. 

Splash and his super swimming squad traverse the waters of Rhode Island with non-stop giggles, frolicking in the waves, and making memories that shimmer like the sun on the tide. Each splash they make is filled with laughter, and each stroke propels them further into RI's swimming adventures. Yes, in Rhode Island, swimming isn't just a sport, it's a fun-filled voyage into the heart of happiness, all under the guidance of the hilarious Splash McFin and his merry band of super swimmers.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

At Kingston’s Camp, your child will have the opportunity to explore, create, and grow their skills with the guidance of experienced counselors and support staff. 

At Kingston’s Camp, we believe that connecting with nature is one of the most important things a child can do. We provide a safe and nurturing outdoor environment where children can explore, develop a love of the outdoors, and learn how to respect nature. With hikes, scavenger hunts, and other outdoor activities, your child will have the opportunity to explore and appreciate the natural world. 

At Kingston’s Camp, we value the importance of community and friendship. Our counselors and staff create a warm and welcoming environment where children can build relationships with each other and learn how to collaborate. Our teachers are highly experienced and educated in early childhood education. They are required to pass full criminal background checks from both local and federal law enforcement agencies. To ensure the safety of your child, we have updated the security and fire systems to the latest state-of-the art technology. In addition, the building is heated and cooled with top-end systems for comfortable days.

For outdoor play, we have three playgrounds that were recently renovated. We offer care and education for children aged from six weeks to twelve years old. Our Barrington daycare will give your child the best start for their academic journey.

Early Learning Centers of Rhode Island

For more than six decades, the MacColl YMCA has been offering families top-notch programs such as childcare, swimming, and camping. The new two-story, 52,000-square-foot building includes a 25-yard lap pool, a family activity pool with a double loop waterslide and spray area, a full-court gymnasium with six half courts for basketball and other sports, and a 5,000-square-foot wellness center. It also features outdoor amenities such as hiking trails, outdoor group exercise pavilion, outdoor basketball courts, and a summertime aquatic campus. Parents, if you're looking for a fun and safe summer day camp for your child, look no further than Camp Grosvenor! Run by the Boys & Girls Club, Camp Grosvenor is a state-licensed 8-week summer camp situated on 95 beautiful acres alongside the Pettaquamscutt River in Saunderstown, Rhode Island. The camp is accredited by the American Camp Association and offers a wide variety of activities, such as a high/low ropes course, climbing wall, swimming, arts & crafts, archery, field games, water trampoline, dance, and more. Camp Grosvenor is open five days a week from 8:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. with extended care hours available to accommodate working parents. Breakfast and lunch are provided at no additional cost to all income eligible children and transportation is available from Newport County, South County, and Westerly. Camp Grosvenor is located on land granted by Historic New England, a not-for-profit organization that preserves and operates thirty-seven historic sites in New England, four of which are in Rhode Island.
