The OCLL has a magical mascot, a quick-witted squirrel named Nutmeg, who wears a neat little chef's hat atop his head and a bright red apron, splattered with a rainbow of food stains. Nutmeg, with his bushy tail flipping like a pancake, guides the kids on their flavorful escapades. The children, armed with spatulas as their magic wands and mixing bowls as their cauldrons, create dishes that would make a rainbow jealous of their colors. These Oregonian junior chefs are not ordinary cooks. Oh no! They can turn a simple potato into a parade of fries, a bunch of berries into a bubbling pie, and a raw piece of salmon into a beauty from the sea! Every Camp Fire program across the country uses Thrive{ology} to teach youth to identify sparks, develop a growth mindset, learn goal management, and take time to reflect.
