The hard work and dedication of Mel Northrop, Colin Caldwell, and Stephen Smith to start a summer Bible camp for children paid off in July 1952 when the first Camp Li-Lo-Li opened at Allegany State Park. Despite the fact that these three men had never run a camp before, their passion for the ministry inspired them to learn the ins and outs of running a camp and they succeeded in their mission. The camp was named by 11-year-old Betty Carol Northrop in a naming competition and stands for Life-Love-Light, all attributes of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
For over 60 years, Camp Cedarbrook has been a place of spiritual growth and adventure for girls. At this rustic Christian camp, girls ages 7-17 can discover a unique community of faith and explore who they are in Christ. Camp Overlook is an exciting and educational summer camp experience for kids ages 6-19. Established in 1945 as a 4-H camp, it is owned by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Franklin and St. Lawrence County. Campers will enjoy plenty of outdoor fun, while also learning important life lessons such as positive social interactions, building skills, and environmental awareness. Counselors and professionals are on hand to provide guidance and support, ensuring campers have a safe and positive experience. 4-H Camp Overlook is more than just a summer camp.
