The story begins in a magical place called 'New Jersingdom,' where every morning is greeted by the chorus of kids practicing their "do-re-me"s. The leader of this melodic bunch is a delightful young chap named 'Johnny Jingle.' Johnny Jingle, with his twinkling blue eyes, freckled face, and wild curly hair that always looked like he'd been struck by a musical lightning bolt. Johnny would wake up each morning, brush his teeth in A-flat, and harmonize with the toasty bagels popping out of toasters all over town. Ah! The satisfying crunch of a well-toasted bagel, served with a side of a perfectly pitched high C. Every corner of New Jersingdom echoed with the vocal warmth of these kids practicing - from the bustling boardwalks of the Jersey Shore to the serene, grassy meadows of the Pine Barrens. Even the squirrel families in the trees had perfected their three-part harmonies! What began in a humble New York City apartment with just a single student, Spark, has since blossomed into an enriching program impacting thousands of children. Our unique educational approach combines the elements of art, yoga, meditation, and nature to create a holistic learning environment. We also welcome homeschool groups and are thrilled to announce the recent addition of a forest school program to our repertoire. You can find Spark on-site in various schools and at our main studio located in the Upper West Side. But we're not stopping there - we're also planning to expand to the Upper East Side and Brooklyn. For our families in Pennsylvania, we run the program from our family studio there. And if you're not in close proximity to any of our locations, don't worry. We offer in-home instruction and virtual options to ensure that Spark can reach you, no matter where you are. The mission of the New Jersey Workshop for the Arts, “where talent develops and creativity thrives,” is to enrich lives by providing opportunities to develop creative talents and encourage a greater appreciation of the arts through both instruction and performance. Founded by Executive Director Dr. Theodore K. Schlosberg in 1972, the NJWA has been dedicated to helping children, adults and senior citizens explore and participate in the arts throughout the year with private and group instruction, performing ensembles, summer camps and more. The faculty is composed of professional artists, musicians and educators who nurture the talents of each individual student.

That’s why we’re thrilled to offer our unique music program, which combines classical training and music theory with a variety of other genres. Not only that, but our program also features special recording features that make learning the Classics fun and interactive. Not only are students able to learn the Classics in an entertaining way, but they also gain a greater understanding of the music theory that goes along with it. Our program encourages children to explore and experiment with different genres, so they can find the type of music that speaks to them and express themselves through it. With our unique recording features, they can create their own compositions and practice their skills, giving them the confidence to pursue a career in music.
