The Arithmech League of New Jersey, or as we call it, "The ALNJ," was not an ordinary club. Ah, no! It was a place where numbers danced, equations quizzed, and geometrical shapes grew personalities. The ALNJ was a secret society hidden within the busy heart of the Garden State, and its members? They were the math-loving munchkins of New Jersey. Now, New Jersey, the fourth smallest state of the U.S., is home to more than just the Jersey Shore and the historical Liberty State Park. It's also home to a whole bunch of number-crunching kiddos whose brains whirr faster than a Jersey diner's milkshake machine! One of these whiz kids is our hero, a ten-year-old boy named Timmy "The Totaler" Thompson. Timmy, with his wild curly hair and glasses perched precariously on his nose, was the crowned king of counting in all of New Jersey. He had an unusual knack for making numbers funnier than a clown in a tutu. One day, during a long division lesson, Timmy decided to rename the remainder "Bob." So, now whenever they had a "Bob" in their equation, the kids would erupt in laughter. Who knew math could be so hilarious? Another time, Timmy discovered that the number '142857' was magical. If you multiply it by 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6, it rearranges itself! This crazy number became the mascot of the ALNJ, and they named it "The Jersey Jumbler." So, my little reader, welcome to New Jersey, where math isn't just numbers and equations, but a comical adventure with Timmy "The Totaler" Thompson and his band of merry mathletes!

Whole Child Education. At Evergreen Kids Academy, it’s our belief that a child learns best when every aspect of a child’s development – cognitive, physical, social and emotional – is nurtured. Our Whole Child approach – based on the approach developed by Maria Montessori – concentrates on skills that include early literacy, logical thinking, problem solving, social understanding, physical coordination, creativity and positive character traits, such as cooperation and self-control. It is characterized by an emphasis on independence, freedom within limits, and respect for a child’s natural psychological development. By adhering to this philosophy to help nurture all of these areas of your child’s development, our goal is to create good citizens with a strong intellectual curiosity. At Evergreen Kids Academy, we believe education should be about more than memorization and repetition. We offer a completely different approach, with a unique, open environment that emphasizes your child’s natural interests and allows your child to set his or her own development pace. The practical application of sensory-based and self-directed learning for children is the most important thread that runs through our Toddler and Primary programs. Language, mathematics, spatial learning, self-discovery, music and art – they’re all incorporated into our approach. Every Evergreen Kids Academy teacher will work with your child to individually encourage her to explore the areas that excite and engage her. As children master an exercise, we guide them to the next appropriate challenge. Students will be treated as equals, and respected as individuals with their own unique thoughts, ideas, perspectives, and talents.
