Sir Wooly, a sassy sheep with an unruly fleece and a pair of knitting needles behind his fluffy ears, teaches the kids to knit like true knights. Together, they create magical garments that make you giggle uncontrollably or jump as high as a kangaroo. While some kids knit colorful scarves that can stretch up to the Blue Ridge Mountains, others weave hats that could double up as UFOs! Every camp day follows a set rhythm. After arriving, the kids have some time to settle in during free play, before the structured activity begins. During the morning art, sewing or creating workshop, I plan an activity while still listening to the children’s own ideas. This is a fantastic way to encourage their imagination and spark their creativity. At Winking Moon Art Camp, it’s all about having fun.
