Mabel, with her curly hair bouncing like popcorn and her eyes twinkling with mischief, has a voice that can make a grumpy bear giggle with delight. She can yodel, whistle, and mimic the chirping of every bird in the state. She sings while brushing her teeth, tying her shoelaces, and even when slurping her spaghetti. Her favorite pastime? Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992.
