Our story's hero was a young lad named Billy, who had the spirit of a wild bear and a laugh that echoed through the valleys. He was a master tuber, known far and wide as 'Billy The Super Tuber.' A chubby bunny with a twinkle in his eyes, Billy wore a hat full of feathers that he found during his many tubing adventures. Each feather represented a new trick he had mastered or a new lake he had explored. But it wasn't all fun and games for this band of brave tubers. Each day, they faced the mighty waves and swirling rapids. With bubbles in their noses and laughter in their lungs, they took on the challenges of the wild Maine waters. Sometimes they would spin so fast, they swore they could see unicorns dancing on the water! However, at the end of the day, the sweet scent of pine trees would lead them back to their cozy homes. It is the second-oldest continually-running camp in the nation, having weathered every era since the turn of the century. In the 1930s, the camp grew from tents to wooden cabins, and set a precedent for tolerance by welcoming boys of Jewish and Latino descent. This stunning spot in Maine still serves as a refuge for boys from all over the world today. Its cabins, lakefront, and sports fields remain picturesque and inviting, providing a safe haven for the boys to learn, grow, and foster friendships.
