At Rhythm Works Integrative Dance, we celebrate every child’s unique self-expression. Our classes provide an inclusive atmosphere where all students can feel safe and inspired to learn new skills, build self-confidence, and grow in their ability to express themselves through dance. We offer classes for students ages 4 and older at the Brio Dance Studio in the Greater Portland Area, as well as programs in local Community Centers, Recreation Programs, and Daycares. Founded in 1980, Portland Ballet is Maine’s professional ballet company, and is the only professional ballet company in the state. Portland Pottery offers a range of exciting classes for kids! Our 8 week sessions are the perfect opportunity for your child to learn and create in a fun and creative environment. Experienced instructors lead each session, which meets once a week for 90 minutes. We are happy to accept kids from the ages of 6-16, providing them with an amazing learning experience. If your child is looking for a group experience, Portland Pottery can also arrange custom classes for groups of six kids or more. At our College for Kids, we offer classes that are designed to introduce kids to the college-level art creation experience. Every class is either one or one and a half hours long and meets once a week for three trimesters. Our instructors are local professional artists who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their classes. Throughout the trimesters, we have a variety of projects that range from art history to children’s literature, and use fine arts materials. As an added bonus, we also bring in local field trips so that kids can experience the art community outside of the classroom. At the end of each trimester, we host a First Friday Art Walk opening to showcase the student’s work. Not only that, but we also offer summer-long art camps for those who want to continue their learning. With our College for Kids program, kids get an experience that’s just like college-level art classes!

Classes are designed to be dynamic and engaging for children of all learning styles, with a maximum of twelve children per class. Señorita Dafni, a veteran teacher, has created Escuela Pura Vida, an after-school Spanish program specifically tailored for children. By using the most suitable learning tools and techniques, children are able to take full advantage of their optimal age for learning. Señorita Dafni has masterfully combined a selection of dance, song, movement, yoga, play, art, and technology to create a stimulating yet relaxed atmosphere. With classes designed to fit various learning styles, Escuela Pura Vida offers a great opportunity for up to twelve children to explore and learn the Spanish language. In 1992, The Language Exchange was established in Portland, Maine, bringing together open-minded individuals with a shared interest in exploring and understanding cultures around the world. The Language Exchange provides an array of services, from language tutoring to business translation, to people and companies all over the state and country. Located in Casco Bay on Peaks Island, this camp is accessible by the Casco Bay Lines ferry in Portland. Children ages 3 and up can take a morning boat ride to the island and spend the day engaging in horseback riding, kayaking, swimming, fort exploration, games, and crafts. Every day, campers and staff vote on daily activities, and each camper's input is valued. With the help of seasoned “honorary aides”, younger campers learn how to groom and saddle up the horses, while developing confidence and social skills. Horse Island Camp is a fun and kind place where kids can learn all about the horses and make lifelong friends!

At Southern Maine ReWilders, we believe that land stewardship is a basic human right and that education, collaboration and understanding are essential to a healthy relationship with the Earth. Our goal is to provide resources and support to the people of southern Maine who are interested in deepening their connection to the land. We offer classes, workshops and experiential learning opportunities that promote land stewardship, environmental education and community collaboration.
