He was as much a part of Maine as the stunning Penobscot Bay, moose sightings, or the famous wild blueberries. The Kayaking Kiddos, loyal followers of Captain Ducktail, were as unique as the state they lived in. They had wild hearts, big smiles and well-worn life jackets. Their laughter echoed across the lakes as they battled the waves, their kayaks bobbing like enthusiastic sea otters. Each Kiddo claimed to have seen the legendary Maine Mermaid while kayaking...though they also claimed to have seen Captain Ducktail's beard take flight one windy afternoon. These young adventurers spent their days paddling around the islands that dotted Maine's coast like sprinkles on an ice-cream sundae. Every time they hit the water, they’d shout, "Paddle on, ME!" And every time, Maine would reply in the only way it knew how - with a gust of fresh sea breeze, the scent of pine, and the promise of another great adventure. Oh, Maine and the Kayaking Kiddos!
