In the far northeastern corner of the United States lies the picturesque state of Maine. Known for its majestic lighthouses, sprawling forests, and scrumptious lobsters, Maine is the perfect spot for our little troop of paint-brush wielding warriors. Led by their fearless leader, Sir Brush-a-Lot, a valiant knight with a palette for a shield and color tubes for a sword, they embark on an artistic journey filled with laughter and creativity.

It's a sight to behold when these kids dip their brushes into vibrant pools of paint, their eyes sparkling with excitement. They approach their canvases as if they were magical portals, their brushes the keys to unlock the doors to their imaginations. Sir Brush-a-Lot rallies his troops, his voice booming out, "Charge, my valiant artists! Charge with your brushes and paint a world only you can dream of!"

Oh, the giggles that echo in the Maine air! The kids' laughter provides a heartwarming soundtrack to the masterpiece unfolding on their canvases. But it's not just about painting. The children learn about the beauty of nature, the value of friendship, and most importantly, the freedom to express themselves.

Every stroke of their brushes is a testament to their spirit. Every dab of paint is a splash of their dreams. Every laughing child is a little artist in the making. Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

Encore/Coda has been providing amazing summer musical experiences for young musicians since 1950. Our campers can learn and play together in a variety of ensembles, from band to jazz choirs, as well as try out activities like tennis, sailing, and swimming. Each day is full of learning and fun, with opportunities to make lasting friendships and memories. 

At Encore/Coda summer camp, kids of all ages and backgrounds can come together and make beautiful music while building strong relationships that last a lifetime. Our camp is designed to give kids the perfect mix of musical instruction, summer camp activities, and social interaction. Since 1936, Hog Island Audubon Camp has been providing adults, families and teens with a unique educational experience. Each summer, campers are led by respected naturalists and environmental educators, inspiring future scientists, educators, and conservation leaders. The special history of the camp and island will be explored in the coming years, as we celebrate 80 years of the camp’s existence. 

Hog Island Audubon Camp is a special place where you can connect with nature and learn about the history of the island and camp. This year, we are excited to be able to reopen our camp with modified programming and safety protocols. We look forward to sharing our unique and inspiring experience with you in 2022. Hog Island Audubon Camp

At our College for Kids, we offer classes that are designed to introduce kids to the college-level art creation experience. Every class is either one or one and a half hours long and meets once a week for three trimesters. Our instructors are local professional artists who bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to their classes. 

Throughout the trimesters, we have a variety of projects that range from art history to children’s literature, and use fine arts materials. As an added bonus, we also bring in local field trips so that kids can experience the art community outside of the classroom. 

At the end of each trimester, we host a First Friday Art Walk opening to showcase the student’s work. Not only that, but we also offer summer-long art camps for those who want to continue their learning. With our College for Kids program, kids get an experience that’s just like college-level art classes!

Today, Cobbossee is just as vibrant as it was when it was first founded in 1902. Its cabins, lakefront, and sports fields are just as beautiful as ever, and it remains a summer home for boys from all over the world. Since 1902, Cobbossee has been a beloved summer home for boys who love sports. It is the second-oldest continually-running camp in the nation, having weathered every era since the turn of the century. In the 1930s, the camp grew from tents to wooden cabins, and set a precedent for tolerance by welcoming boys of Jewish and Latino descent.

This stunning spot in Maine still serves as a refuge for boys from all over the world today. Its cabins, lakefront, and sports fields remain picturesque and inviting, providing a safe haven for the boys to learn, grow, and foster friendships. 

For 114 years, Cobbossee has been a summer sanctuary for boys of all backgrounds who are drawn to its rustic beauty and sports-minded spirit. It remains an unparalleled place of learning, camaraderie, and adventure that will continue to be cherished for generations to come.
