Chuckles isn’t the biggest or the fastest, but he’s got a secret weapon – his legendary hockey puck trick shots that leave onlookers in splits. He can bank a puck off the rink walls, ricochet it off an opponent's skate, and send it whizzing into the goal. He calls it his ‘Knuckle Puck Chuckle Shuffle’ and it is as funny as it sounds. So, in the enchanting state of Massachusetts, amid the lobster clambakes and fall foliage, you'll find these kid warriors of the rink. They may look like tiny knights, but they’re really Ice Gladiators, led by the puck-juggling, laughter-inducing legend, Chuckles McGee.

Welcome to Hockeytown! Established in 1972, Hockeytown is the premier venue for Ice, Dek, and Roller hockey on the north shore. The facility boasts two ice hockey rinks and is conveniently located off of route one with plenty of parking for visitors. The Turtles, a Hockeytown team, recently faced the Big Red in the East Division Semi Finals, and then went on to face the heavily favored Blackbears in the Finals. Thanks to the reflexes of veteran goaltender Lloyd Ternes and the speed of the “rookies”, the Turtles captured the Title in an exciting 3-2 victory. Congratulations to all on a great season! For the 2022-2023 Season, Hockeytown is hoping to return to a 7 team format. Applications are now available online or at the office. But Abbott, a Refrigeration Mechanic, saw the potential for the local area and decided to take a risk. In 1980, Hockey Town USA Inc. was opened in Saugus, Massachusetts. Abbott saw a need for an additional artificial ice arena, as the abundant natural ice in the area was limited to a short winter season. He began driving his sons and neighborhood kids to Frost Arena and Lynn Arena to skate well after midnight, and this inspired him to create the rink. Abbott’s vision was to create a unique hockey experience that would provide a safe and enjoyable atmosphere for the local youth and adult hockey players. Hockey Town USA has achieved this goal and has become a staple of the Saugus community. With a full-size rink, pro shop, and other amenities, the facility has established itself as an institution in the area. Hockey Town USA is proud to be part of the rich hockey history of Saugus and to continue to offer a fun and safe environment for the community.
The Boston Americans girls program offers a unique opportunity for girls in New England to hone their hockey skills. With the ability to compete in the Valley Hockey League against boys teams from across the region, girls gain an edge that no other girls teams can offer. "This experience is invaluable for our players" says Goodrich, "they get to play against bigger, stronger, and faster opponents, and it really tests their abilities. We've seen a lot of growth in our girls from this experience, both on and off the ice." The Boston Americans girls program provides an experience that no other girls program in New England can offer.
