Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. The camp's program is designed to introduce children to the ethical responsibilities of hunting and fishing and to promote stewardship of the natural resources. With over 70 years of experience, the camp is a great way to connect kids with nature. The camp was established in 1949 by the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Game and a citizens group. The camp is now administered by the Massachusetts Sportsmen’s Junior Conservation Camp, Inc., a non-profit tax-exempt corporation responsible for the camp's operations. Junior Conservation Camp provides a fantastic experience for kids to learn about conservation and outdoor recreation. Campers will develop an understanding of the ethical obligations of hunting and fishing, as well as the importance of protecting the natural environment. With a long history of success, the camp is a great way to help foster an appreciation for the outdoors in young people.
