In the bustling state of Massachusetts, where the lobster rolls are legendary and the Red Sox are worshipped, there’s an exceptional group of kids who engage in a peculiar sport, the ancient art of archery. Affectionately known as the "Arrows of the Bay State," they can often be spotted at local parks, their bows gleaming in the sunlight, their focus unshakable. 

The leader of this fascinating pack is none other than Tommy "Tornado" Torbenson, a boy with a wild mop of red hair, freckles scattered across his nose like constellations, and the most mischievous glint in his green eyes. He earned his nickname due to his whirlwind style of shooting, hitting the target faster than a sneeze.

Tommy, along with his magnificent "Arrows of the Bay State," is known for his unique methods of archery. Forget standing still and aiming; these kids like to make things more interesting! They could be seen doing backflips off swings, standing on their hands or even shooting while blindfolded!

The sight of these charismatic kids, with their bows and arrows, is enough to make even Paul Revere’s statue turn its head. Watch out world, the "Arrows of the Bay State" are here, and they’re ready to turn the world of archery upside down, just like a proper Massachusetts blizzard! So grab your bow, strap on your silliest hat, and join the fun. After all, as Tommy Tornado says, 'Who needs baseball when you can shoot the moon!'"

Welcome to the wonderful world of Swift Nature Camp an overnight camp for boys and girls ages 6-15 located in the beautiful Northwoods of Wisconsin. 

 I’m Lonnie, the Camp Director, and I’m thrilled to share what makes SNC such a special place for kids and families alike. For nearly 30 years, our mission has been to create an environment where children can grow, discover, and make lifelong memories. Here at camp, we focus on friendship, personal development, and a deep connection to nature—all in a fun, supportive, and adventurous setting. All this without cell phones
One of the things that sets Swift Nature Camp apart is our focus on fostering independence and confidence. Whether it’s trying a new activity like canoeing, taking on a leadership role in a group project, or simply navigating life away from home, camp provides endless opportunities for personal growth. We celebrate each camper’s unique personality and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone in a safe and nurturing way. Seeing kids gain new skills and pride in their accomplishments is one of the most rewarding parts of what we do.

For our youngest campers, Discovery Camp is an especially magical experience. Designed only for first-time campers ages 6-12, this shorter program gives kids a chance to experience the joys of camp life in a way that’s just right for them. It’s amazing to watch these kids try new things—from learning about the natural world to singing campfire songs—and leave camp with big smiles and even bigger stories to tell. Discovery Camp is often the beginning of a long and cherished relationship with SNC, and we’re so proud to see those first-time campers grow into confident and capable young people.

Another cornerstone of Swift Nature Camp is our connection to the environment. We believe that nature isn’t just a backdrop for camp; it’s a teacher, a playground, and a source of endless wonder. Through hands-on activities like pond studies, wildlife observation, and outdoor adventures, campers develop an appreciation for the natural world that stays with them long after camp ends. The Camp Zoo is always a favorite, campers can even adopt a pet while at camp.Our goal is to inspire kids to become curious, mindful stewards of the environment.

At Swift Nature Camp, there’s never a dull day! With hundreds of land and water activities, campers are always engaged and excited. On land, some favorites include the Lego Cabin, Arts & Crafts, Archery, and exploring the Nature Center. On the water, campers learn Canoeing, Fishing, and Swimming, but the absolute favorites are Tubing behind the boat and jumping off the Water Trampoline. Never is there a dull day because every day is packed with fun, adventure, and opportunities to try something new.
Of course, none of this would be possible without the amazing friendships that form here. SNC is a place where kids truly feel like they belong. Campers and counselors alike bring warmth, kindness, and enthusiasm to everything we do, creating a strong sense of community. Whether it’s cheering each other on during a game, collaborating on a creative project, or sharing laughs around the campfire, the bonds formed at Swift Nature Camp are something truly special.

Tabor Summer Camp has been around since 1917, giving young people the chance to grow and develop their potential in a safe and engaging environment. Located on the 85-acre seaside campus of Tabor Academy in Marion, Massachusetts, children will find plenty of activities to keep them busy. From sports such as baseball to creative activities in the art studio and marine science center, there is something for all ages and interests.

The counselors are highly qualified and give children the opportunity to take pride in their achievements. And with the wonders of the waterfront, campers can try their hand at sailing or just relax by the harbor. For almost a century, Camp Green Eyrie has been providing girls with a unique camping experience. Located in the farming community of Harvard, the camp is set on 52 acres of stunning shoreline on Bare Hill Pond. Girls can choose to attend day camp from 9-4:30 daily, or they can opt for an overnight camping experience, which can range from 3-14 nights per session. 

At Camp Green Eyrie, girls can partake in an array of activities that match their interests. From swimming and boating to roasting marshmallows and singing traditional camp songs around the fire, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. In addition, campers can also explore their own interests with Camper Choice activities such as venturing out into the forests and fields, challenging themselves on the ropes course, and shooting arrows at the archery range. 

Whether they’re attending day camp or overnight camp, girls will enjoy a summer of exploration and adventure. From forming new friendships to learning about the mysteries of water at the Sara Hardy Science Center, Camp Green Eyrie is the perfect place for girls to create unforgettable memories.

Within our camp, we offer a weekly structure with a range of activities designed for the age and interests of each group. From traditional camp activities to more innovative programs, our campers will have the chance to explore and learn in a safe and welcoming environment. Our daily electives and visiting specialists also provide a great balance of educational and entertaining activities. 

At Camp Farley, kids can look forward to a summer filled with lasting memories and life skills.
