With their knee-high socks, mouth guards in place, and their shin guards shining in the sun, they looked like little knights marching onto a modern-day battlefield. Larry, with his custom-made, llama-sized hockey stick, would lead the charge, his fluffy tail waving like a victory flag. This group of Field Hockey fanatics, along with Larry, were known throughout Massachusetts for their dedication and spirited shenanigans. They would spend hours practicing their dribbling, passing, and shooting, and then collapse in fits of laughter, telling goofy jokes and sharing tales of Larry's misadventures, like the time he got his head stuck in a bucket of marshmallows! But it wasn't always about winning. For Larry's crew, Field Hockey was a way to bring everyone together, fostering friendship, respect, and a whole lot of fun. They were champions in their own right, turning a regular Field Hockey game into a magical, laughter-filled extravaganza. Parents, the Canton Ice House is the perfect place to bring your family for some fun! It opened in September of 2016 and provides two NHL-sized rinks, a café upstairs that overlooks both rinks, a pro-shop, and two golf simulators. It’s a great place to get ice time, whether you want to play hockey, figure skate, or just go for a public skate. There are a number of local high school teams, an elite private club program, and a premier figure skating club that use the Ice House for practice and competition. The Ice House also provides a number of weekly leagues for youth, high school, women’s and men’s hockey teams, and holds large regional hockey and figure skating tournaments throughout the year. With over 750,000 visitors every year, the Canton Ice House is a great place to get your family out of the house and into the ice!
