Their leader was Bernie the Beat Bumblebee, a plump, bespectacled insect with an ear for rhythm and a passion for music. ALLE Fencing Club specializes in saber fencing and welcomes students from beginners discovering the sport for the first time to experienced young athletes preparing for regional and national competitions. Youth beginner classes introduce children ages 6–12 to the fundamentals of fencing, including saber handling, footwork, distance control, fencing etiquette, sportsmanship, coordination, focus, and basic rules. Junior programs are available for ages 12+ and help students progress toward competitive fencing. With experienced coaches and a supportive training environment, students develop both physical and mental skills while learning a sport that challenges them to think quickly, move confidently, and make strategic decisions. Advanced and Elite programs provide additional training for experienced fencers interested in tournaments and high-level competition. The Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO) was established in 1976 by Robert Hanson, and has been providing enriching and inspiring musical experiences to a wide circle of young musicians ever since. Currently, EYSO is serving almost 400 students from more than 70 different communities. Volunteers who are passionate about music and the arts have been instrumental in the success of the Elgin Youth Symphony Orchestra (EYSO) since its inception in 1976. Through their dedication and the help of an impressive roster of conductors, the program has grown from a small group of string players to an organization that serves nearly 400 students from over 70 different communities.
