Stageworks Theatre has long been lauded for its excellence in theatrical performances. From directors to playwrights, actors to designers, and all the talented staff, the theatre has been celebrated many times over for its achievements. With these recognitions, Stageworks is motivated to keep pushing forward in its mission to offer high quality plays to the Tampa Bay community. For over two decades, Stageworks Theatre has been the recipient of countless awards and accolades. This acknowledgement has only encouraged the theater to keep striving to provide meaningful, entertaining plays to the people of the Tampa Bay area. Bucket Drumming

Discover the power and joy of Bucket Drumming with Stageworks Theatre’s master drumming instructor Alvon Griffin. Using his Math Music method, children of all ages find it easy to learn rhythms as well as create their own with this fun, high energy creative outlet.

Creative Drama

This session will introduce students to the tools of acting. The course will include drama games, projection and articulation skills, improvisation and other dramatic exercises to foster creativity, confidence and public speaking skills. Students will work on age appropriate scenes and monologues.

Youth Ensemble Acting

Working with a master teacher and professional actor, students learn the basics of dramatic improvisation and stage acting. The ten participating youth are guided by the Stageworks’artist/teachers to create, develop and stage their own dramatic performance. The process of creating a play through improvisation relies on acting and improvisational techniques which require intensive teambuilding. This is accomplished thru mastery of new communication and conflict resolution skills as well as lessons in acting and performance. Since the program taps into their passion for acting, the participating youth readily adopt new social skills that can prove valuable beyond the workshop setting to make responsible decisions, manage conflict, and to solve personal and social problems.
