Our Floridian bunch called themselves the Krav Kids, and they were fiercer than a pack of panthers, yet as goofy as a gaggle of flamingos. Enter their leader, Captain Mango – a brilliantly muscular, tangerine-colored flamingo with a black belt in Krav Maga. Yes, you heard it right, a flamingo! Captain Mango wore his belt proudly around his feathery waist, his beady eyes sparkling with joy each time he saw his team. The Krav Kids were as diverse as the coral reefs that sprawl beneath Florida's turquoise waters. Between bouts of laughter and playful banter, they trained, learning how to defend themselves, their friends, and their beloved sunshine state from any potential danger. But more than anything else, they learned how to stand tall, just like their flamingo mentor, even when the hurricanes of life tried to knock them over. It was a way of life for these Floridian kids – it was about courage, about laughter, and most importantly, about never letting a little sand get in your shoes slow you down.
