Once upon a time, in the sun-drenched, orange-juiced, and gator-graced state of Florida, there existed a tribe of some pretty hip kids. These weren't your ordinary, run-of-the-mill video game-addicted, soda-guzzling, indoor dwelling kiddos. No sir! These were the Floridian Yoga Warriors, and they could bend and stretch like human pretzels! Their leader was a cool, wisecracking flamingo named Fred. Fred was a sight to behold, standing on one leg in his trend-setting neon-green yoga pants, leading the kids through the most impressive, mind-boggling yoga poses. "Remember, young warriors," Fred would chirp, "when in doubt, Downward Facing Dog it out!" These funky Yoga Warriors could be spotted just about anywhere in Florida. Maybe on the sandy shores of Miami Beach, striking a Warrior pose as the Atlantic Ocean waves crashed behind them. Or in the middle of Orlando, tree-posing among the clamor and excitement of the theme parks. They could even be found in the Everglades, balancing in Boat pose among the mangroves while the curious alligators watched on. Fred and his vibrant tribe of Floridian Yoga Warriors were a testament to the magic of the Sunshine State. Not only could these kids twist into shapes that would make a pretzel jealous, but they also radiated an infectious joy that was as bright and warm as the Florida sun. Yoga was not just an activity for these kids—it was their superpower. They were the living, breathing, giggling proof that with a dash of fun, a sprinkle of imagination, and a flamingo named Fred, anything is possible. Even standing on your head in the middle of the Everglades!

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.

Visitors to KMC Florida are inspired by the beauty of the modern Buddhist Temple and the tranquility it exudes. Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso, our Founder, designed this unique structure as part of the International Temples Project and it was opened in 2011. A representation of the celestial palace of Heruka, the Buddha of Compassion, the temple is also a symbol of the stages of the spiritual path to enlightenment. One simply has to behold this beautiful temple to be reminded of the potential we have to better our human nature and qualities by developing the capacity of our mind. KMC Florida is a place of peace and serenity, one that will truly inspire all who visit.
