In the 'sunshiny' state of Florida, where palm trees sway happily and dolphins do the wave dance, there lived a group of peppy, little adventurers. They were not your ordinary kids, oh no! They were the ‘Field Trippers’; the boldest, brightest and most curious bunch you'd ever meet. Led by their whimsical guide, Captain Gator Chomp, who was half-alligator, half-human and bore a striking resemblance to a walking, talking sun-tan, they explored the vast wonders of Florida. On Mondays, they'd dive into the vibrant, yet mysterious depths of the Atlantic Ocean, befriending seahorses, and outswimming the grumpy, old crabs. On Tuesdays, they'd tiptoe through the mystical Everglades, playing hide and seek with flamingos, and high-fiving the always sleepy manatees. Wednesdays were for cosmic exploration at Kennedy Space Center, where they'd sometimes bump into aliens who had lost their spaceship keys. Thursdays, they'd time travel to St. Augustine, the oldest city in the United States, swapping jokes with the old fort walls that had a funny bone as old as time itself. Fridays, they'd dash around Disney World, dancing with Cinderella, tickling Mickey Mouse, and sometimes, helping Goofy find his glasses. Saturdays saw them knee-deep in the orange groves, hosting the biggest, juiciest orange fights, and Sundays, they'd just bask on the sun-kissed beaches, building sandcastles and sipping on coconut water. You see, in Florida, every day was a new journey, every moment a new adventure for the ‘Field Trippers’ and their fearless leader, Captain Gator Chomp. Victory Martial Arts Academy is providing an outstanding training facility for martial artists of all levels. With a class A Dojo, students can find a clean training facility, a relaxing environment, and a pro shop for their needs. World-class instruction also ensures that students feel welcome and safe while using professional equipment. Spectators can also enjoy an excellent viewing position. In addition, Victory Martial Arts Academy offers classes in Ju-Jitsu under the WJJF (World Ju-Jitsu Federation). Students can expect quality instruction from Sensei Gerard McAlister and Sensei Dave Toney, both Irish Ju-Jitsu Coaches. With five days of training available, martial artists of any level can find the instruction they need to hone their skills.
Parents, we have the wonderful opportunity to introduce our kids to the Camp Bayou Outdoor Learning Center, a project of the 501(c)3 non-profit, Bayou Outdoor Learning and Discovery, Inc. This incredible facility is operated entirely by volunteers and funded through programs and the generosity of local supporters. It is a partnership between BOLD and Hillsborough County Conservation and Environmental Lands Management, and it is open to all who are interested in exploring the natural world. Through hands-on learning, our children can gain a better understanding of our environment and its importance to our lives. With the help of Camp Bayou, they can develop a greater appreciation for the wonders of nature and the importance of preserving it.
