His encouraging roars can be heard across the arena, filling the hearts of every Rope Ranger with courage and fun. The program center was purchased in 1970, and its name, which means “Earth Maiden,” was selected in a troop contest. It was dedicated on March 7, 1971. At Mah-Kah-Wee, Girl Scouts have the opportunity to take part in outdoor activities all year round. During the summertime, campers from across the United States flock to the program center to enjoy its natural surroundings and the fun-filled activities that come along with it.
