In the sunny and adventurous state of California, a band of brave, young kids known as The Submarine Squids dive into the world of scuba diving. The Squids are not your regular children; they are adventurers who unravel underwater stories, little captains of their own submarine worlds. With their vibrant, multicolored suits, they blend into the rainbow array of fish that call the California coasts home. California, their playground, is a dazzling state brimming with beaches that glisten under the golden sun. The Pacific Ocean, vast and full of mystery, laps at the sandy shores and beckons the Squids to explore its depths. From the kelp forests of Monterey Bay to the coral reefs of Catalina Island, the Squids take on thrilling underwater quests. The leader of the Squids, a curly-haired daredevil named Captain Kelpbeard, is known for his signature bubble-shaped helmet and his ridiculously funny underwater dance moves. When he's not pulling pranks on his fellow Squids or inventing new dance moves, Captain Kelpbeard points out the most fascinating sea creatures, sometimes even having conversations with them! Their favorite activity? Learning about the different aquatic species, like the playful sea lions, the shy sea otters, and the grumpy-looking, yet harmless, cuddlefish. And sometimes, they even uncover lost pirate treasures, adding more chuckles to their aquatic escapades. Scuba diving in California with the Submarine Squids isn't just about venturing into the blue unknown; it is about laughter, shared stories, and creating an underwater world full of fun and adventure.

Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.

The Channel Islands Boating Center (CIBC) opened its doors in April 2013 to provide Ventura County’s youth and adults with educational and recreational boating opportunities. In addition to teaching boating skills and safety techniques, the CIBC also serves as a resource to help families gain an understanding of the local marine environment. When you visit the CIBC, you will find the lobby filled with interactive and passive exhibits about the Channel Islands Marine environment and natural history. These exhibits provide a great opportunity for families to learn about current preservation efforts and the impact we have on the environment. The CIBC welcomes individuals and groups to come and visit the center. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned boater, the CIBC offers the perfect opportunity to learn about the local marine environment and gain valuable boating experience.
