Sir Pizzazz, with his rainbow afro and his paintbrush that doubles as a magical wand, is the fearless leader of our eclectic group. He sports a cape made entirely of multicolored paint smears, and his laughter sounds like the merry jingle of paint tubes shaking up a storm. Under the watchful eye of Sir Palette Pizzazz, the Visual Arts Kids are wildly creative, splashing colors onto canvases like fearless warriors battling a monotone monster. They wield their crayons, pencils, and paint-brushes like knights wielding their swords, creating masterpieces that would make the sunflowers of Van Gogh blush and the starry night sky of the same master gasp in awe. The Visual Arts Kids of California are a tight-knit crew, painting their way through life with vivacious enthusiasm. Nestled in 178 acres of lush woodland is a serene escape from the city, a place fondly known as Camp Swamp. This overnight Christian camp, located just two hours east of bustling Atlanta, has been serving as a peaceful retreat since 1992. We like to think of it as our own "little slice of heaven," offering a respite from the daily hustle and bustle, and inviting people to reconnect with nature and their spirituality. Our primary offering is a week-long summer camp, but we've expanded over the years to include more than just summer fun. As part of our mission to support families and churches, we now also host three family camps throughout the year, as well as four parent/child retreats. These events offer a chance for families to bond, parents to connect with their children, and individuals to grow in their faith. Moreover, our facilities are not exclusive to our organized events. Camp Swamp also offers rentals to schools, churches, universities, sports teams, and even business groups. Whether you're planning a camp, a retreat, or a team-building excursion, our serene setting and well-equipped facilities provide the ideal backdrop for an unforgettable experience.
Parents looking for an activity that will cultivate creativity and self-confidence in their children will find just that in my art classes. Children will learn a classical method of drawing and painting that will stay with them for a lifetime. They will begin the program with drawing pictures and coloring them with pastels. Once they have mastered drawing, they may progress to watercolor painting. With the step-by-step tools they will be given at the first class, children can build a drawing and add colorful, true to life effects to make a beautiful work of art. In my classes, each child works independently and progresses at their own pace. This weekly, 90 minute session allows for ample time for children to take their time, clean up, and finish class with a mini art show. With the guidance of my one-on-one instruction, children will gain self-confidence and find joy in discovering their own creative successes. These classes provide a fun and supportive environment where children can express their creativity and develop technical skills that will last a lifetime.
